Support for adults with learning disabilities or autism
We provide support for adults in Luton who have a learning disability, autism, or conditions related to learning disabilities. Our aim is to help people live healthy, safe and independent lives.
Our Community Learning Disability and Autism service can offer support with:
- social care needs
- physical and mental health
- daily living skills
- accessing the right services
We also work closely with families and carers to make sure support is centred around the person’s needs and what matters to them.
Support is available for adults living in Luton, as well as those placed in nearby areas where Luton remains responsible for their care.
Children and young people aged 0 to 25 with special educational needs and disabilities
The Luton Local Offer SEND information hub explains the support available for children and young people aged 0 to 25 with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and their families.
It brings together information about education, health, social care and local services in one place, helping families and professionals find the support they need.
Find services by area of specific need for you or your child.
Parent Carer Forum
EPIC is the Luton Parent Carer Forum. We fund and support it but it operates independently.
It provides a friendly and supportive place to meet as well as representation for parents and carers of children with SEND.
Specialised support groups are available for families with children with autism. See the autism resources padlet for more information.
See the EBSA resources padlet for information about understanding and responding to emotionally based school avoidance.
Someone to speak on your behalf
Community Connex Luton is a free and independent advocacy service.
If you use social or healthcare services, they can support you to understand your rights and make sure you are included in decisions about your care.
