We investigate noise problems reported by residents, including issues from neighbours, businesses, industrial sites and construction activity. Excessive or frequent noise can be very disruptive, and we are here to help when it becomes a problem.
The Noise App allows you to record noise disturbances on your smartphone or tablet and send them directly to us as part of your complaint.

Noise issues we can not advise
Some types of noise are outside our control or are considered normal everyday activity. We cannot assist with:
- aircraft noise – London Luton Airport
- children playing
- poor sound insulation between properties
- everyday household noises, such as doors closing or lights being switched on
- people causing noise in the street
- traffic noise
