You have the right to ask for any and all personal data that we hold about you. If you do this you might get a lot of information – much of which you do not want or need.
The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) recommends that you are as specific as possible when making a request.
Details you could include in your request
You do not have to provide all of these details, but it might help us to identify what you are looking for. Examples include:
- the specific information you want
- anything you do not want, for example documents or emails you’ve already got, or information about things you are not interested in
- the specific event, issue or topic the information relates to
- which team you want data from
- the time period you are interested in
- details that will help us find the information you want, for example the name of the service or person who has been dealing with your case
- the reason you want the information
- anything else which helps us to understand exactly what you want
Supplementary information
You also have a right to ask for supplementary information. This should largely reflect the information you already know from our privacy notice or other communications.
