What to put in your rubbish (non-recyclable) bin

Only use the rubbish bins for waste that cannot be recycled or composted.

What not to include

Do not include:  

  • any recyclables
  • building materials
  • soil and rubble
  • garden waste
  • some types of clinical waste
  • asbestos
  • large bulky items, including furniture – arrange a bulky waste collection
  • electrical items – take them to a tip
  • toxic or hazardous materials, including car batteries, motor oil, paint, corrosive materials – take them to a tip
  • hot ash, once cooled
