A Luton landlord pleaded guilty at Luton Crown Court to a charge under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. This followed a fire which broke out at the premises, resulting in the death of one of the tenants.
Penalty: sentenced to 4 months imprisonment, suspended for 12 months, with a fine of £20,000 and £12,000 costs.
