A landlord who had previously been fined over £20,000 for House in Multiple Occupation (HMO) offences in connection with a property in Luton in 2021, was convicted at Luton Magistrates Court of further offences at another HMO in Luton.
Penalty: £10,800 and £5,000 in costs.
February enforcements 2023
A Luton company, its director and a third defendant were found guilty at Luton Magistrates Court of a total of 47 offences in connection with operating an unlicensed HMO and breaches of regulations relating to safety at the premises.
Penalty: fines amounting to £78,080 and £11,676 in costs.
January enforcements 2023
A Luton letting agent and its director were fined for failing to produce documents relating to the renting of the property, which were required by the council during the course of an investigation.
Penalty: £6,791 in fines.
