If you refuse our offer of accommodation

If you refuse a suitable offer of accommodation from us when there's no good reason to, or breach the terms of your temporary accommodation (fail to comply with your rental obligation or antisocial behaviour), then this will end our housing duty to you and you will have to find your own accommodation.

Temporary or emergency accommodation will be available while you are waiting for an offer of suitable accommodation for your household or if you find your own.

If our housing duty to you ends, you will have to leave any temporary accommodation that has been allocated to you.

If you are asked to leave your temporary accommodation

There are some common reasons why we have to ask people to leave temporary accommodation. These include:

  • failing to pay the rent
  • damaging the property
  • you or your visitors causing a nuisance to other residents
  • leaving the accommodation or moving other people in
  • antisocial behaviour including drug use

If this is due to a breach of terms and disagree with this decision you will have the right to a review.
