Claim compensation for improvements
Before you make a claim for compensation, you must check you are:
- eligible to make a claim
- the improvement are listed as qualified items
Complete the rights to compensation form
Claims must be made no more than 28 days before or 14 days after the date on which a tenancy ends.
After you've completed the form
Once the completed form is received a visit will be made to the property by an Officer of the Council to inspect the improvement.
You will then recieve a letter explaining:
- the outcome of the claim no more than 21 days from the date the claim was received
- how the claim was calculated and if it is decided that some compensation is payable
- how to request a review if the claim has been declined – the review will follow our official complaints procedure
