Request information from us: step by step

How to request Freedom of Information or Environmental Information Regulations information, when you can expect a response, and what to do if you are unhappy with our decision.

You have the right to access a lot of the information and data we hold. This is governed by the:

  • Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) 2000
  • Environmental Information Regulations (EIR)

Throughout this guidance, we will use 'information request' to cover both FOI and EIR.

To request personal data that we hold about you, make a subject access request instead.
