Manage your Council Tax Reduction and Housing Benefit claims, how to register online to make a claim and guidance on how to register.
What you can do in your benefit account
We provide a secure online service that helps you to manage some of your interactions with us.
You will need to register for an account before you can claim benefits.
Council Tax Reduction
You can:
- view details of your claim
- check your entitlement
Council Tax benefit has been replaced by Council Tax Reduction. The amount awarded is shown under 'Support' in the details of billing periods section.
Housing Benefit
You can:
- apply for and view details of your claim
- check when the next Housing Benefit payment is due
- check the make up of the household
- check any overpayments outstanding
Benefit summary
The benefit summary will show you the weekly award of Housing Benefit and/or Council Tax Reduction.
Details of household
In details of household you'll be able to see all the members of the household you've told us about and their income if applicable.
If these calculations or details are wrong you can report an error or a change in circumstances.
Please supply your contact telephone number, including area code where applicable, and email address, so that we can contact you if we need to.
Payments
In next payment you will be able to see the next amount due to be paid and for what period.
If we are making a deduction for an overpayment of Housing Benefit, this will be deducted and the amount we will pay you is shown in the amount you receive. You are responsible for paying the difference to make up your rent.
Invoices outstanding shows the invoices for overpayments. This section will also show cleared and zero balance invoices.
