When to register your child to start school
In the run up to your child's third birthday we strongly advise you to register his or her details at your local school. We'll then send you information explaining how to apply for a place a year before your child starts school.
Admissions for reception places close on 15 January each year.
You can apply for a school place from October each year.
The year your child was born
Date of birth: 1 September 2020 to 31 August 2021.
Due to start school: September 2025.
Date of birth: 1 September 2021 to 31 August 2022
Due to start school: September 2026.
Dates of birth: 1 September 2022 to 31 August 2023
Due to start school: September 2027.
Date of birth: 1 September 2023 to 31 August 2024
Due to start school: September 2028.
If your child was born between 1 September 2020 and 31 August 2021
You can apply for a reception place.
