A personal search is an inspection of the local land charges register (LLCR)
Any member of the public can make a personal inspection of the LLCR. The service operates an appointment system and you are advised to contact the service if you would like to view the register.
If you are carrying out a private search of the register, we expect that you have sufficient knowledge of local land charges and the governing legislation to understand and correctly interpret the data for the search to be completed.
Changes in 2010 to the Local Land Charges Rules 1977 mean that a personal inspection of the LLCR is free of charge.
No in-person appointments
As the planning and building regulation information is available online, there is no need for search agents to visit the planning reception. No further appointments to visit planning for CON29R data by search companies will be accepted. If you need further information regarding this service, please contact us.

Building regulations information is only accurate from the year 2000.

Enforcement notices
Any enforcement notice issued after 1 Jan 2016 will be available on the link above using the simple or advanced searches. All enforcement notices issued prior to 1 Jan 2016 can be found on the enforcement and breach of condition notices register.
The full enforcement and breach of condition notices register can be viewed at the Town Hall between 8.45am and 3pm by appointment. You will need:
- the address in question
- any applicable reference number(s)
Viewing of multiple enforcement notices will be limited due to resource implications.
