Concessionary travel

How to apply for a concessionary travel pass for travelling on public transport, including pensioner and disability smart cards.

New applications should be made by completing an application form online.

If you do not have access to a computer (PC) you can use our self service computers free of charge at Luton Central Library.

Supporting evidence

You must provide:

  • proof of address dated within the last three months at the time of application (utility bills or bank statement or council tax letter)
  • proof of disability:
    • Higher Rate Mobility Component of Disability Living Allowance (HRMCDLA) or
    • Personal Independence Payment (PIP), where the applicant has been awarded at least eight points against either the PIP “Moving around” and/or “communicating verbally” or
    • Blue Badge, or
    • War Pensioners Mobility (WPC) Supplement

Renew or replace a smart card

You can renew an expired smart card free of charge.

The replacement smart card charge is £14.
