Outdoor live music event returns to Luton town centre this month
Luton Council is thrilled to announce the return of a free outdoor live music event to Market Hill, George Street in June, in partnership with Step Forward Luton and The Castle.
‘Market Hill Live’ will feature an amazing line-up packed full of seven local artists plus DJs looking to light up the stage from 2pm to 9.30pm on Saturday 27 June.
This year promises to be bigger and better, with more acts and an extended run time following a successful debut last September, in which hundreds of music lovers enjoyed an evening of live entertainment in the open air.
The Castle’s fully licensed outdoor bar will be on hand to serve up cold beverages throughout the day, teaming up with the Bricklayers Arms. A variety of street food will also be available for purchase.
The line-up of artists coming to town include Greensands, Cereal Milk, The Aspects, Matty Ram, The Elizabeths, The Blights and Olivia Lynn, with a DJ set rounding up the evening.
Connor Willis, Event Manager at The Castle, said: "We're so excited to be presenting another edition of Market Hill Live for 2026, especially during a year of celebrating Luton's 150th anniversary as a borough. This year we're presenting the town's next wave of future talent and giving them the stage, making this an extremely exciting opportunity for each artist and allowing the town to get behind our own."
Councillor Basit Mahmood, Portfolio Holder for Regeneration and Inclusive Growth at Luton Council, said: “We’re delighted to be partnering with The Castle again, building on the success of last year, and bringing a great outdoor live music experience back into the town centre. This is part of our ongoing commitment to providing free and accessible events and activities to our residents.”
With DJs keeping the vibes high until 9.30pm, the party continues for those eager to catch England’s last group stage game at the World Cup, as The Castle will be screening the match versus Panama live in their outdoor garden.
‘Market Hill Live’ is the first of three outdoor live music events in Luton town centre this summer in partnership between Step Forward Luton, Luton Council and local entertainment providers:
- Saturday 27 June, ‘Market Hill Live’ from 2pm to 9.30pm with The Castle Live at Market Hill
- Saturday 18 July, ‘Beats & Bites’ from 2pm to 8pm with PRAXIS DJ-Live in the Hat District
- Saturday 15 August, ‘Funk & Soul’ Festival from 2pm to 8pm with The Bear Club in the Hat District
These live music events form part of a wider programme celebrating Luton’s 150th anniversary as a borough, with events and activities highlighting the town’s history, heritage and community spirit.
The Luton 150 programme also offers opportunities for businesses to get involved through sponsorship packages, providing brand visibility while supporting the local community. For more information, email marketing@luton.gov.uk.
