Just Ask Aisha: new AI-powered jobs website launches as Luton employment rate rises
A new jobs and skills portal providing personalised advice through an AI assistant is launching across Luton.
It comes as new figures show the number of people employed in Luton rose by more than 9,000 last year.
The Luton Jobs and Skills website provides a new digital home for opportunities across the town, from new roles to training.
Aisha, the site’s personal AI adviser, asks questions that create personal pathways that match the user’s interests and ambitions.
Hundreds of jobs and apprenticeships will be added every day, from a wide range of industries and sectors.
Councillor Javeria Hussain, Portfolio Holder for Employability, Skills and Education, said: “This new digital destination makes finding jobs and learning simple, inclusive and accessible.
“Whether you’re starting out on your job hunt or looking to change career direction, the site makes it easy to find the opportunity that’s right for you.
“It’s about helping our residents every step of the way, building confidence and letting them shape their future, regardless of their age or experience.”
The number of people employed in Luton rose by 9,200 – from 94,100 to 103,300 - in 2025, a jump of nearly 6%.
It means the town’s total employed workforce is at its highest for more than three years.
The new portal can be viewed in 17 different languages and accessibility tools make it open and inclusive for everyone.
Jobs, apprenticeships and training courses can be easily searched and filtered, while Aisha’s personal recommendations present new ideas people may not even have considered.
Councillor Hussain, who is also Vice Chair of Luton Rising, the council company that owns the airport and associated assets for community benefit, added: “Luton Jobs and Skills reflects us – diverse, ambitious and ready for the future.
“It was developed by listening to resident feedback on how to support them with finding the right jobs and training.
“The recent figures show that we are creating a fair, sustainable town where everyone thrives.”
The site was developed in partnership with Luton Adult Learning, higher education and a wide network of employers, training providers and community organisations.
Nik Jones, HR Director at London Luton Airport, said creating jobs and career opportunities for residents was one their top priorities.
He said: “This new digital tool is a great way to connect residents with the wide range of positions available and I would encourage anybody from Luton considering a career with us to explore the wide range of roles on offer.
“We’re working closely with local schools and colleges to inspire the next generation of talent, equip students with the skills they need and shine a light on the many exciting career pathways at the airport.”
