Our strategic vision

It describes how we look after trees on council owned land both directly and indirectly, ensuring wherever possible their protection and enhancement to maximise the many benefits they provide to our communities.

The document provides information about our current tree population including the distribution of species and age class, potential threats from disease and includes targets to increase in the town’s tree canopy through retention and protection of existing trees and new planting resourced through maximising external funding opportunities.
