What the register includes
We must create, keep up to date and publish a register of certain structures and features. The register lists structures or features that, in our view:
- plays an important role in managing water or drainage, and
- could have a significant impact on flood risk in the local area
- who owns each flood risk asset
- the current condition and state of repair
These may include things like culverts, embankments, walls or drainage features.
Why the register matters
Keeping this register helps us to:
- understand and manage flood risk more effectively
- protect important flood risk assets
- share clear information with residents, landowners and other organisations
The asset register could be viewed on request by contacting the flood risk management team.
