Seizure of illegal vapes from Luton shop

Following an investigation by Luton Trading Standards, Vape Broski Limited of Dunstable Road in Luton and its Director have been prosecuted for possessing and selling illegal vapes.

Council commits to tackling domestic violence

On Tuesday 14 November Luton Council unanimously adopted a motion proposed by Councillor Maria Lovell MBE, stating Luton should be a town where all children, young people and adults can live free of the fear of domestic violence and abuse in all forms.

Winter is on the way and we are ready!

With the clocks recently changing, and with darker nights and colder days, the council is gearing up its winter service plans to keep the roads moving.

The fleet of gritters are ready for when icy conditions are forecast and the temperature plummets with crews prepared to salt over 140 miles of Luton’s roads to help prevent icy patches or snow from forming. That’s more than 1,400 tonnes of salt on our roads – equivalent to the weight of 350 hippos. Information from weather recording stations is assessed and if there is a risk of ice, Luton’s gritting fleet will set out.

Town leaders come together at knife crime summit

Luton Council, Bedfordshire Police and the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner have all pledged to put more resources into community safety work in Luton to fight knife crime.
