Luton’s largest ever classical music concert will take place in Stockwood Park this September

In partnership with Luton Music Service and with headline sponsorship from the council’s airport company, Luton Rising, this event will see a range of group performers and soloists take the stage in what promises to be a large-scale outdoor concert experience, featuring a professionally produced programme of live music, entertainment and a spectacular fireworks finale.

The event will feature performances from the Luton Youth Percussion Orchestra, Luton Youth Funk Band, and many more talented ensembles. The evening will culminate in a special performance by the Luton Music Service Proms Symphony Orchestra, featuring current musicians alongside alumni, for a unique celebration of Luton's musical talent. And it of course wouldn’t be a Proms event without a firework finale!

Councillor Basit Mahmood, portfolio holder for town centre regeneration and inclusive growth, said: “As we celebrate 150 years of Luton, an incredibly important milestone for our town, we wanted to create an event that is both inspiring and accessible. Luton Rising presents Proms in the Park will be the town’s largest-ever classical music event, bringing together outstanding local talent for a spectacular evening of music and celebration. By offering tickets from just £5, we’re helping to remove barriers for our residents and ensure more people can experience and enjoy classical music. We hope this event will not only be a highlight of the anniversary year but also demonstrate the appetite for more large-scale cultural events in Luton in the years ahead.”

Alongside the talent on stage, attendees will enjoy a full event village featuring food vendors, bars, family activities and face painting, as well as a VIP area, accessible viewing platform and quiet zone.

As a fully managed, ticketed event, Luton Rising presents Proms in the Park will offer one of the most affordable large-scale Proms experiences in the region. The first 1,000 13+, 12 and under tickets, and family tickets will be sold at a special discounted price.
