Taking place at Luton Town Hall on Thursday 25 June, 5pm to 7pm, the free event offers a chance to connect with council services, armed forces organisations and charities, and discover the support available to veterans, serving personnel and their families.

Luton has a deep and proud armed forces heritage. With a strong veteran community woven into the fabric of the town, Armed Forces Day is a meaningful opportunity to come together and recognise the contribution of those who serve and have served.

Councillor Maria Lovell MBE, Portfolio Holder for Veterans, said: "Luton has always had a close connection with our armed forces, and Armed Forces Day is a chance for the whole community to come together and say thank you. Whether you're a veteran, a serving member of the forces, a family member, or simply someone who wants to show their support – you are welcome. We are committed to ensuring that those who have served are not forgotten, and that the right support is there for them when they need it."

This commitment is reflected in the council's recent funding of the RV Hub – a dedicated veterans hub based in Leagrave. Open every Monday, the RV Hub offers veterans, serving personnel, their families and the wider community a welcoming space for support, connection and advice. The council has contributed towards the hub's year one running costs, helping to secure its future and ensure this vital resource remains available to those who need it most.
