This space is part of the pedestrianised high street in Luton town centre. It sits along a main walking route and is close to three Mall shopping centre exits, which together receive around 1.6 million visitors each month. The area is suitable for:
- small staged events
- commercial activities
- public information campaigns
Features of the space
- The amphitheatre is 18 metres in diameter, with an adjoining paved area measuring 23 metres in length.
- Two power supply boxes are built into the back walls of the amphitheatre, providing 2 × 16‑amp and 2 × 32‑amp outlets.
- Vehicle access is controlled by hydraulic bollards operated remotely. Vehicles must enter and leave before 10am, with no access again until after 6pm. If a vehicle needs to stay on site during the event, approval is required. The bollards are not operated by us, so access outside these times cannot be arranged.
- Banner space is available on the railings around the amphitheatre, subject to approval.
Guidance on collections and fundraising
- Direct debit fundraising can take place, but fundraisers must stay inside the amphitheatre area (within the brick walls) for the entire event. This is due to an agreement with the Public Fundraising Regulatory Association (PFRA).
- Other types of monetary collections are allowed both inside and outside the amphitheatre, but require a Street Collection Permit from the Licensing Service. Please allow at least 30 days for the permit application.

- £28.00 booking fee (for up to 7 consecutive days). Plus £26.00 per day for use of the electricity, if required
Commercial events
- £28.00 booking fee plus £350.00 for first day of booking then £54.00 for each additional day (for up to 7 consecutive days). Use of the electricity is included in this fee, if required.
