What do residents need to know
We recognise that some residents will be impacted and may be inconvenienced over the weekend. While this event is expected to attract thousands of visitors, it will be smaller than previous events such as BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend that was held in May 2024.
As a neighbour of the park, a nearby resident or someone living near some of the main transport links for the event, we want to assure you that a lot of work is being put into event plans so we can look to minimise disruption as much as possible.
There will be public meetings held soon to explain the plan in more detail and how this may impact residents.
Event goers will be strongly urged not to drive to Stockwood Park unless they have booked parking and it is expected that the vast majority of people will be using public transport.
Temporary traffic measures will be in place on Saturday 12 September and Sunday 13 September.
Road closures
Road closures and parking restrictions will be introduced around Stockwood Park for Party in the Park and Proms in the Park.

A diversion route will run via London Road, Castle Street, Windsor Street and Farley Hill. Emergency service vehicles, event vehicles and authorised residents’ vehicles will be exempt from the closures.
