Parks and open spaces are important community areas that provide free places for exercise, relaxation and enjoying nature, often including features like playgrounds, walking trails and sports facilities, and are usually maintained by local authorities.

Luton has a wide range of parks and green spaces, including five parks that have received Green Flag Awards. The Green Flag Award is an international quality standard that recognises well managed, publicly accessible parks and green spaces in the UK and around the world.

Luton also has many neighbourhood parks and green spaces as well as community gardens run by local groups.
