These workshops were developed to be passed on to Flying Start colleagues so they could continue delivering them in person, and they may still be happening.
EPIC is the Luton Parent Carer Forum which is funded and supported by Luton Council but operates independently. It provides a friendly and supportive place to meet as well as representation for parents and carers of children with SEND.
Specialised support groups are available for families with children with autism. See the autism resources padlet for more information.
See the EBSA resources padlet for information about understanding and responding to emotionally based school avoidance.
The Child and Educational Psychology Service (CEPS) trades with schools and offers a community package which enables us to provide parent workshops and drop ins.
Video interaction guidance
Video interaction guidance, an evidence-based therapeutic approach provided through CEPS, supports clients to develop new narratives about:
- themselves (usually parents or carers)
- their child
- the relationship between them
Clients say it improves their confidence and changes the way they see their child, themselves and their relationship. They report positive changes in other relationships and wellbeing.
