The electoral register
The full electoral register lists the names and addresses of everyone that's registered to vote in public elections. It cannot be sold to anyone.
The register is used for electoral purposes, such as making sure only eligible people can vote. It's also used for other limited purposes specified in law such as:
- checking credit applications
- detecting crime such as fraud
- calling people for jury service
When you register to vote, your name goes on the electoral register.
