Recycle small electrical items
How and where to recycle your small electrical items, including what can and cannot be recycled.
If you want to recycle a small electrical item, you can drop it off at any one of our 60 recycling points across Luton. You can find them in various places, including local schools, community centres and libraries.

Anything with a plug, battery or cable can be recycled and turned into something new.
What you can recycle at our electrical drop off points
You can drop off small electrical items no larger than a two-sliced toaster (20cm by 20cm), including:
- small radios
- hair dryers and hair straighteners
- kettles
- two-sliced toasters
- electric toothbrushes
- chargers and cables
- blenders and bullet juicers
- calculators
- cameras, small speakers and mobile phones
- shavers
- irons
- small electronic toys and games
What you cannot recycle at our electrical drop-off points
Anything large, you will need to take to a Tidy Tip.
This includes:
- TVs and PC monitors
- laptops
- household batteries – take them back to local shops
- vapes
- fluorescent tubes and energy-saving light bulbs
- ink cartridges and toners
- fridges and freezers
- washing machines
- dishwashers
- cookers
- microwave ovens
- vacuum cleaners
- glass or ceramic electrical items (slow cookers or glass kettles)
