12/04/2017 - Council launches digital newsletter

This Thursday (13 April), we sent out the first issue of our monthly digital update. e-Luton will contain news items, service updates and a wide variety of useful information for the town’s residents.

The regular newsletter will take the place of Lutonline and will provide the same comprehensive coverage of our activities, plans and engagement with the town.

It’s simple to sign up to receive it. Go to and select your preferences.

You will also be given the option to choose other email updates related to businesses in the town and council tenants.

Additionally, you will be able to register for updates regarding online services such as MyAccount​, which is already being used by thousands of residents to help them manage their council tax, benefits and other interactions with us. 

You will also be able to subscribe to learn about roadworks in your area and any changes in service information. 

As you register for these updates you will also be able to tell us if there are certain areas of interest you would like to hear more about, such as sport, jobs, consultations.

Cllr Hazel Simmons, Leader of the Council, said: 

"Increasingly people consume their news on digital devices, so this move makes sense for all concerned. Everyone will be able to easily access news 24/7 and be able to keep in touch with some of the exciting developments that are taking place as we enter the second year of our ambitious £1.5bn investment framework for Luton.

"Not only that, but we will be able to save money by informing residents in this way – money that we will be able to channel in to protecting valuable services to the vulnerable."
