Luton, supporting you

We want to make sure that, as a resident of Luton, you get the help and support available to you during the current cost of living crisis.

We understand that you're likely to be be worried about the impact of rising prices, with many of the most vulnerable households struggling to make their incomes stretch to cover the basics. This may also be affecting your mental health.

Together with our partners, we’re here to help with support for:

  • help with paying bills
  • concerns about rising energy costs
  • benefits and other financial help
  • employment guidance
  • housing advice
  • mental health issues and feeling isolated

Claim your benefits

Make sure you're getting all the benefits you're entitled to. Use our online benefits calculator to enter your details and find out which benefits you can claim.

Cost of living payment

If you claim certain benefits or tax credits, you may be eligible for an extra payment to help with the cost of living.

The government has announced further cost of living payments will be made between spring 2023 and spring 2024. These payments are:

  • up to £900 for people on an eligible low income benefit
  • £300 for pensioner households
  • £150 for people on an eligible disability benefit

If you’re eligible, payments will be made automatically. Find out about the cost of living payment on GOV.UK.
