Theodor Kern: Abstracts

Sub heading

/events/Lists/SiteImages/abstracts.jpg

Luton Culture presents a new display of Theodor Kern’s abstract works, using watercolour and ink. These works have never previously been on display.

Austrian born artist Theodor Kern (1900-1969) started his early painting career in the early 1920s. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, and was a diverse artist trying his hand at many different styles.

Abstract art does not attempt to represent an accurate depiction of a visual reality but instead use shapes, colours, forms and gestural marks to achieve its effect.

The paintings will be on display in the main corridor of Wardown House everyday from Monday 9 September 2019 to Monday 20 January 2020.
