Lighting up Luton for Christmas 2017

Sub heading

Lighting up Luton 2017

We are delighted to announce that this year's Lighting up Luton for Christmas will be taking place on Saturday 25 November.
In partnership with Luton BID and The Mall Luton, we are promising a day full of entertainment, including performances organised by Luton in Harmony, arts and crafts, and carol singing.
Luton Business Improvement District (BID) has arranged for Mike & Evie from Mike the Knight to entertain families in the lead-up to the big event, with personal appearances at intervals from 2.30pm. They will also be at the official switch-on at 6pm too. Families will also be able to visit Santa’s Grotto, courtesy of The Mall Luton.
This year, we will be running a special appeal for donations to Luton Food Bank, and a collection point will be open all day for residents to make donations. As part of this, We want to give one lucky Luton child (aged 4-11) the change to win a £50 toy store voucher to help celebrate Christmas, as well as the chance to help switch on this year's Christmas lights. All they need to do is create a picture that shows the importance of giving back. The parent/guardian then needs to film the child saying why they think it’s important that Luton gives back.
London Luton Airport Ltd (LLAL) has generously offered to be the principal sponsor making this year’s event possible.
LLAL is the company which owns London Luton Airport, and while it takes no part in the day-to-day running of the airport, it has a significant role to play in planning for its long-term success. The company wanted to sponsor the event as part of its work to raise the profile of the airport and as a way of acknowledging the support they get from Luton residents.
Event sponsorship is also kindly provided by Heart FM, Diverse FM, Dominoes, Bedfordshire Midweek, Shades Printing and Bartham Press.
