Councillor Hazel Simmons MBE, Leader of Luton Council COVID-19 is an infectious disease affecting your lungs and airways caused by a newly discovered coronavirus. Read an overview of COVID-19 on the WHO website.

We've all had to make sacrifices but it is vital that we all continue to do what we can to combat this deadly disease. Health officials in Luton are currently seeing a slight increase in the number of cases identified through NHS testing so we're urging everyone to be cautious and vigilant.

Lockdown may be easing but the crisis is not over and our advice to residents is
  • stay at home as much as possible
  • if meeting up with others, do so outside
  • stick to the 2metre guidelines where possible
  • continue to wash your hands regularly

Please be careful this weekend
The NHS, police and the county’s local authorities have joined forces to issue a stark warning to the people of Bedfordshire and Luton ahead of this weekend.
