Coronavirus: help in your area

​Offers of help are coming in from across the community. If you feel you can offer help to someone who needs it, such as elderly residents, pregnant women and vulnerable families, please email [email protected].

Please see below for a list of trusted services and networks operating locally.

If you're a vulnerable person - aged over 70 and/or with underlying health conditions – and require urgent help, please contact 01582 547659.

Luton Irish Forum

Helpline available  Monday to Friday between 9.30am and 3.30pm for information and signposting to:

  • information on maintaining wellbeing

Christchurch Bushmead

  • Providing support to Bushmead residents who may be self isolating.
  • Collecting shopping and medicines from local pharmacy, where they have nobody else in a position to do so for them.
  • Contacting people by phone to check they are ok or if they need someone to talk to.

Citizens Advice Bureau (offices closed)

Please visit the website for advice and support on a range of issues affecting residents’ lives, from your rights at work to support with debt management.

Luton Foodbank

Luton Foodbank exists to assist those who cannot afford food. They simply do not have the staff, vehicles, or food to offer deliveries to people who are self-isolating but not in immediate financial hardship.
 
If you're self-isolating but not in financial hardship, you do not need to go through the foodbank assessment and referral process.Instead, contact them for emergncy assistance.

Covid-19 Luton Community Action Group (Facebook)

This group has been set up to assist the community in supporting each other during the coronavirus pandemic.
 
It offers an opportunity for people to meet digitally, offer services to the vulnerable and isolated and to establish good community values.
 
The group is run entirely by volunteers.
