Pupils due to transfer to high school in September 2019

Parents of pupils in Year 6 must apply for a high school place for September 2019.

​​​​​The closing date for parents to apply for a high school place for their child has now passed.



You can still apply for a high school place for your child by downloading and completing the application form at the bottom of the page.  Late applications and changes of preference will not be considered in the initial allocation of places.

For late applications received up to 27 March 2019, decision letters will be posted to parents on 17 May 2019.
 
For late applications received up to 3 May 2019, decision letters will be posted to parents on 28 June 2019.
 
If you are using the application form to change your preference(s) and we are able to allocate one of the schools you have stated on your form, the school your child was originally allocated will immediately be withdrawn and re-allocated to another child.
 
Completed application forms must be returned to your child’s current Luton school or to our Admissions Team.
 
If you live in Luton and your child attends an independent (private) school or a school outside of Luton, your completed application form must be returned direct to our Admissions Team.
 
You must apply for a high school place even if:
  • you have already made an earlier application direct to the school
  • your preferred school is not in Luton
  • your preferred school is a faith school, a foundation school, an academy or a free school.
It is really important that you read our 'How to apply for a school place for September 2019 guide'.
 
If you specify Cardinal Newman Catholic School on your application, you must also complete the School’s supplementary form and must provide your child’s original Baptismal Certificate.

Please note the Education Portal can be used to keep up to date with the progress of your application.
 
After the closing date, an update on the school your child has been allocated can be seen from 1 March 2019.
 

Error on guide

There is an error on page 90 of the How to apply for a school place for 2019 guide, criterion 3 of Chiltern Academy’s criteria should read:
 
3.  Children with siblings at the school who will be still be attending the school at the proposed date of admission.
