Integrated Impact Assessments

Sub heading

St George

A new Integrated Impact Assessment (IIA) process has been developed to replace the previous Equality Impact Assessment used by the Council.

This new process aims to avoid duplication by pulling together consideration of social justice, health and sustainability issues into the one form. The new process also provides easy access to background information and specialist support and guidance where needed.

The key aim of our impact assessment process is to ensure that all Council policies, plans and strategies support the corporate mission statement that the needs of Luton’s people will be first in everything we do. The IIA will help us to do this by

  • embedding considerations of Social Justice principles and practice into the Council’s decision making process
  • ensuring adherence to the Equality Act 2010 and associated Public Sector Duty
  • minimising duplication of initial impact assessments with regards to Environment and Health
  • enable decision makers to take an informed view of the wider impacts of decisions under consideration
