Building Better Opportunities

The South East Midlands Local Enterprise Partnership (SEMLEP) wide Building Better Opportunities (BBO) project ended delivery on 31 March.

Programme outcomes

During its tenure, the BBO programme helped achieve the following results across the SEMLEP region:

• 536 people into employment, 387 being unemployed and 149 being economically inactive at the start of the programme
• 410 people into education or training
• 238 economically inactive people closer to the job market through job searching

The BBO programme also achieved soft outcomes such as:

• 1,721 people reported their barriers to employment were reduced
• 1,711 people learnt a new skill that makes them more employable
• 1,443 people reported an improved quality of life after they finished the programme
