Poor Goldilocks, she’s so sad, although she loves to help her mother run their travelling circus, the truth is they’re really down on their luck.  To add to their woes, they arrive in the village of Merrydown, though the villagers who live there have little to be merry about as they live under a tyrant of a mayor who also has his own circus and hates competition.

As Goldilocks and her mother arrive the Mayor tells them the ground rent is doubled. With her mum in tears and both of them starving, Goldilocks decides to go into the nearby forest to pick berries and gather wood for the fire.  As night starts to fall she finds herself lost but sees in the distance the glow of lights from a cottage. She walks up to the door and enters. Soon she has tasted all the porridge and falls fast asleep to be discovered by the Three Bears next morning.

She befriends the bears and discovers Baby Bear is very talented. He immediately becomes the star of the Circus. Jealousy engulfs the Mayor who decides to kidnap their fury circus star. With the help of Paul the Ringmaster and Simple Simon, Baby Bear is rescued, the mayor gets his just deserts, Goldilocks marries her hero Paul, and, as in all good fairytales,  They all live happily ever after.
