Eight lucky fans were told over the weekend that they will be meeting Olly Murs when he performs in Luton on Saturday 7 July.
Deborah Loughran, Kathleen Downey, Lynne Steers and Lyn Norwood were selected at random from all ticket buyers on or before 7 June.
They each receive a pair of meet and greets with Murs prior to his performance at Popes Meadow.
Shortly after receiving the good news, Kathleen Downey from Luton, said: “Can't believe we'll be meeting Olly. I am bringing my 16 year old niece over from Ireland to go to the Love Luton Festival. I just rang her to tell her the news that she'll be meeting her idol and she broke down in tears. She is a fanatical fan so to actually meet him will be an everlasting memory. I hope she can keep it together on the day. Roll on July 7.”
Lyn Norwood from Hertfordshire also reacted to the news with great excitement. She said: “When I heard that I had won a meet and greet with Olly Murs I couldn't believe my luck. My daughter is mad about him and I'm keeping it a surprise for now. She will have so much to ask him, probably if he will marry her. I'm excited but she will remember this for ever.
Cllr Hazel Simmons, Leader of Luton Borough Council, said: “Congratulations to all the winners. I think their reactions show how big the Love Luton Festival is and what it means to our town. Not only can you see Olly Murs and The Wanted playing full sets at Popes Meadow for just £15, a price that I’m sure cannot be matched anywhere else, but the programme of free family entertainment is also breathtaking.”
