30/08/2012 - Essential road resurfacing at Round Green

Subheading

Road maintenance

Essential overnight road resurfacing has been scheduled to take place at the Round Green roundabout in Luton for three nights from Monday to Wednesday 3-5 September.

The works will take place between 9pm and 5am, during which times Hitchin Road will be controlled by temporary traffic lights and Stockingstone Road will be closed to traffic between Hitchin Road and Felix Avenue.
To allow for additional carriageway repairs which are taking place in Stockingstone Road at the same time, a signed diversion for motorists will be in operation via Old Bedford Road, Midland Road and Hitchin Road, and vice versa. Access for residents and businesses will be maintained wherever possible.

Hitchin Road is currently closed for four weeks at its junction with Station Road, to allow for ongoing works connected with the Luton Dunstable Busway, and are asked to consider these works when planning their journey.
Cllr Dave Taylor, Portfolio Holder for highways, said: “The works at Round Green roundabout are subject to permissive weather conditions. We are continuing to work hard to maintain the quality of the road network in Luton and wish to apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
