Subheading

Road closed

Dunstable Road will be closed to all traffic this weekend for essential works connected with construction of the Luton Dunstable Busway.

The road will be shut between the Dunstable Road/Telford Way roundabout and the junction with Hazelbury Crescent/Francis Street from 10pm on Friday 5 October until 5am on Monday 8 October for drainage works.

Traffic will be diverted clockwise via Hatters Way, Chaul End Lane and Dunstable Road, and in the other direction via Telford Way, New Bedford Road, Montrose Avenue, Leagrave Road, Waller Avenue and Dunstable Road.

Access to the petrol station in Dunstable Road will be maintained as usual but there will be no access to Bury Park via Dunstable Road.

From Monday 8 October Hazelbury Crescent will be closed for three weeks for drainage works between Dunstable Road and Avondale Road.

Cllr Dave Taylor, Portfolio Holder for environment, advised drivers of possible delays and to plan their journey.

He said: “We are building the busway in order to improve journey times across the Luton Dunstable conurbation, and wish to thank motorists for their ongoing patience while these essential works are carried out.”
