A stretch of Hatters Way, Luton, will be closed to traffic and pedestrians over the next two weekends for essential works connected with the Luton Dunstable Busway.
The closures are between Dunstable Road and Chaul End Lane from 2-5 November and 9-12 November, from 10pm on each Friday evening until no later than 5am on each Monday morning.
The work is to backfill between the guideway’s tracks and complete the cycleway, the installation of kerbs and concrete finishing works. Motorists will be diverted via Dunstable Road and Chaul End Lane.
Contractor BAM Nuttall has also advised that the closure of Church Street, Luton, is to be further extended.
Cllr Dave Taylor, Portfolio Holder for transportation, said: “We apologise for the inconvenience this has caused but further excavation works have uncovered more unexpected utility apparatus under the road.
“The contractor is liaising with the utility companies to resolve the problem as a matter of urgency.”
