Town Hall Square
Works to improve Town Hall Square in Luton are nearing completion. The last phase of the project will see new granite paving extended up to shopfronts.

In order to keep disruption for businesses to a minimum, and maintain access for the public wherever possible, we will be working on small patches of pavement at a time.

Gradually, more areas of Town Hall Square are being opened up to the public, and Luton’s Armistice Day commemorations and Remembrance Sunday services will be able to take place as usual.

It is hoped new rising bollards that will enforce the existing traffic restriction in George Street between 10am and 6pm will be operational early in the New Year.

Further minor works are also required in Chapel Street to complete the project.

The scheme is designed to make Luton town centre an even more attractive destination for shoppers, retailers and business, while complementing the regeneration of St George’s Square.

We would like to thank business and shoppers for their ongoing understanding and support during these works.
