Responsible cyclist
- Obey the rules and regulations in the Highway Code (and keep up to date)
- Ensure their bicycle is well maintained and in a roadworthy condition
- Only ride on the road and designated cycle paths
- Always ride in a safe and sensible manner and be aware of how their actions can affect others
- Obey all traffic signs, lines and traffic light signals
- Never ride if impaired through alcohol or drugs (recreational, prescription and over the counter medicines)
- Always wear something bright at night and in poor daylight and ensure their bicycle has a set of working lights
- Be aware of how their actions can affect others
- Ensure friends and family are careful when cycling
Be prepared to take further training or advice to improve cycling standard
