Junior road safety officers

The Junior Road Safety Officer scheme is aimed at primary and junior schools in Luton. Schools usually appoint two JRSOs from year six (while year five students shadow) their role is to spread the road safety messages throughout the school by:

• Giving talks at assemblies about road safety topics.
• Maintain a notice board that shows road safety information and posters and make sure that it is kept up to date and relevant.
• Run competitions within the school to promote road safety and sustainable travel.
