School and college transport

Transport to school is provided in many instances when pupils or students live over a certain mileage criteria:

Where the distance from home to the nearest suitable school is:

• greater than 2 miles for children up to age 8 or
• greater than 3 miles for children aged 8 and over

We will make travel arrangements free of charge to your child’s nearest suitable school where there is a place available, as long as:

• your child has been admitted to the school and
• the distance from your home to that school is greater than the statutory distance relevant to the child

Please note, as of 1st January 2011, the charge for all replacement school bus passes will be increased to £25.00.
