This is the highest possible score under the Scores on the doors hygiene scheme.
Environmental health officer Hittess Vaghela said: "This is the first ever hot food takeaway to achieve five stars under Scores on the doors. We have a few restaurants and schools that have achieved this excellent standard but not any takeaways.”
He continued: “The law sets basic standards. But if any business, whether they are a large company or a mobile van, takes factors such as hygiene, cleaning, repair and management seriously then they should be able to achieve five stars. Congratulations to Chicken George for their excellent hygiene standards on the day of inspection.”
Check out the hygiene scores of food businesses inspected so far by looking at the certificate on the front door of the premises, visiting www.luton.gov.uk/foodscores or collecting a paper copy at the town hall or central library.
