The Investors in People Standard is a business improvement tool designed to advance an organisation’s performance through its people.
Everyone agrees that people are an organisation's greatest asset, and we all know that for an organisation to succeed everyone has to perform well. To achieve this, people need the right knowledge, skills and motivation to work efficiently.
The Council’s commitment to its employees has received a resounding endorsement to the Investors in People standard. Each department and several services had already achieved Iip status independently and whole council accreditation has now replaced all of those.
Assessors rated the Council against a list of ten key indicators and the Council’s performance in several areas received particular commendation for equalities and learning and development opportunities within the authority.
