Dray's Ditches and Waulud's Bank are two scheduled ancient monuments in Luton situated on land maintained by the Nature Conservation Service.
There is also a cluster of Bronze Age round burrows on Galley Hill, two of which have been excavated. They are former ancient scheduled monuments.
There is a range of archaeological features on sites managed by the Nature Conservation Service, including strip lynchets (medieval cultivation terraces), wood banks (which are usually medieval) and even the remains of a 19th century farm house.
The ancient monuments are the statutory responsibility of English Nature. However, enquiries about the management of the monuments can be made to the Nature Conservation Service.
