Luton Libraries deal with several thousand enquiries a year, ranging from “how do I find a local doctor”, to “have you got information on the latest government budget details”, or “have you got a book about India and a map as I’m going on holiday there soon”.

The library service deals with questions from anyone, from school children doing homework, professionals carrying out research for their job and local residents needing information on local services, clubs and activities.

You can ask a question in person at any Luton Library or by telephoning us during library opening hours. You can also fax or e-mail your question, using the contact details above.

Luton Libraries are also part of a new national service called Enquire.  Enquire is free to use, and enables anyone with a computer and an internet connection to ask a question at any time, day or night, so people do not need to wait until their local library opens.  It offers a live question and answer service, working like instant messaging or chat room technology, where you put your question to trained staff who can help you, just as if you were talking to them face to face or on the telephone.  Helping people find information is what libraries do, and now it's available 24 hours a day, every day of the year.  To ask a question click on the People's Network Enquire Service.
