homeless family
The Homesafe scheme makes sure that a person who is at risk of violence, from someone who either still lives in the same property or has since left but occasionally returns, is able to remain in their own home in safety and without fear of further harm.

Working together with the police we make sure you receive all the support information and equipment you need to remain living at home and feeling safe. This approach recognises that having to move home due to the fear of violence can lead to greater stress to yourself and your family.

Homesafe can provide:

  • replacement locks
  • door modifications and/or replacement
  • new window fittings
  • panic alarm
  • mobile phone and letterbox security.

If necessary a safe room can also be created.

To access Homesafe, contact the Council on 01582 51 03 70

We will work together with you in order to decide how we can make you feel more safe as well as taking any legal steps that are necessary.
