We want to make it as easy as possible for all tenants to be involved in one way or another and to offer a choice as to your level of involvement.
Below are just some of the ways that you can get involved . . .
Tenant Consultative Committee (TCC)
The TCC is an elected group of tenants who monitor council housing strategy and make recommendations on important issues affecting tenants.
It meets at the Town Hall every two months and provides the tenant voice to decisions made by the council. Dates of the next meetings in 2011 are:
- 6th April
- 25th May
- 13th July
For more detailed information read our TCC factsheet, available to download below.
Tenant and Resident Associations (TARAs)
TARAs represent tenants in their local area. They meet regularly with Council officers to resolve housing issues that affect their street or block.
There are currently TARAs in the following areas:
- Ashcroft and Ramridge
- Farley Hill
- Hastings Street Area
- Lewsey
- Limbury
- Park Town
- St. Annes
For more information read our TARA factsheet, available to download below..
Service Area Panels (SAPs)
SAPs are tenant groups that focus on a particular service areas. SAPs look at the detail of the day to day running of the service. There are SAPs that focus on the following subjects:
- Rent
- Repairs
- Tenant rights and responsibilities
- Communications
- Disabled Tenants
- Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic Tenants
For more information and to see how you can get involved read our SAP factsheet, available below.
Key Customers
Key Customers keep the Council up-to-date on issues in their area. These could be things like fly-tipping, bin collection, or cleaning of communal areas.
Tenants know before the Council what is going on where they live so when key customers report to us it means that we can respond to things much quicker. This ensures that we can remove fly tipped rubbish straight away or make sure that the grass cutting is done.
For more information and to see how you can get involved read our SAP factsheet, below.
Board
The Sounding Board is a group of tenants who have told us that they want to be involved in helping to improve the housing service that we provide.
We need to know our tenants’ views on our services so that we can make these improvements.
For more information about the Housing Sounding Board and how you can get involved, see our factsheet below.
In addition to the groups mentioned above, there are other ways that tenants get involved for example through focus groups, questionnaires and estate walkabouts.
You can download our factsheets below for more information about how you can get involved.
